Helpful, but not so thorough

Well, I'm a fresh grad and was a little confused when I first bought this book, not really knowing what to do with my life. So, I was seeking for coaching and inspirations, and this book with some great reviews came to me. Overall, the book does what it claimed. The author provided me 25 steps to realizing my dream and my goal by asking questions and questions so that I got to reflect on my self. It helped me create some workbook on my career path, and I was quite satisfied with the result. I got to know my self a little better.

However, what I actually dislike about this book is that it's too abstract for me. Some ideas are not so practical and somehow sounded dreamy (which may be inspiring for some people but not just the coaching I was looking for). So, if you are looking for some specific, practical, directional books, this one may not be for you. But if you need some mental boost and sparkling inspirations, you may want to consider this one :)

Henri writes about finding your Passion!

It is not a quick read of 25 Questions, but more a work book to discover Yourself! Your Passions! and then put together the steps necessary to find out who and what your are looking for in yourself.

Henri discovered at a young age it is not about the Money, The world and Travel, but digging deep to discover "What floats your boat".

As I read the first 6 chapters, I thought about my journal and the blank pages, the Video camera and the lack of recordings and just my own personal level of procrastination and lack of staying with a plan to get THERE.

We are often EXPERTS at sloughing through life and getting by.

So if you need to shake your tree and get out bed with an ELAN for live. Then this book is written for action, reading each Question and putting to paper your thoughts, dreams, desires and creating YOUR Future.

This book is a nice exercise in how to achieve a dream you already have, but if you are still looking for your passion, or feel adrift, this book will not help you find it.

See why I gave a book I couldn't even finish 5 stars...

I wasn't going to view this book, because I didn't finish it. I stopped at 80% and couldn't continue. But then I couldn't stop thinking about it...it's haunted me ever since I stopped reading it. Then I decided if a book could overtake my every thought and pull me in so deep as to cause me such anguish that I can't even turn the page from where I stopped...it deserves 5 stars. At the least. It's not the book that is lacking, it's me. I lack the courage to continue. Some day I might, but not right now while it still hurts so much.

Nicolas and Isaac are both great guys. Any girl would be lucky to have either one. Peyton cheats on them both. She's in love with Nicholas, but sleeps with her ex boyfriend, Isaac, while they're on a 'break'. Then for circumstantial reasons she marries Isaac but is still madly in love with Nicolas. So she ends up cheating on Isaac, while promising Nic that she will leave him...she just needs time, so she says. When another reason popped up that she couldn't leave Isaac to be with Nicolas I just couldn't take anymore. She just keeps hurting Nic, and she's hurting Isaac and he doesn't even know about it yet. I got to the point where I really don't care how it ends up. Regardless of what she chooses, everyone loses. Everyone hurts. Everyone's heart is broken. I just can't see my way to a happily ever after for anyone in this story, and the sad thing is that both men DESERVE one. But I'm so angry at Peyton for everything's she's done that I don't know how she could possible be that HEA for either one of them. Who knows? Maybe she isn't! I'm too much of a coward to continue reading to find out!

Hated these characters SOME SPOILERS!!!!

I feel somewhat bad writing a review on a book that involves cheating. I really don't like to read about it. I didn't know though that it was about cheating before I started reading. I have to say I have never hated a character as much as Peyton. I actually found her a bit mental with her behavior. I could not understand why she didn't just get a divorce. I could have maybe seen it, if she loved her husband also. Was it because of the money he had? And if it was I hate her all over again. I even actually started to hate Nicolas and his behavior. I thought it was horrible how he treated his girlfriend Lindsey. I have never seen a group of people telling each how much they love one another while treating each other horribly. I didn't find the love story tragic or beautiful. I guess they all appeared to me to be nothing but selfish cheaters. I will say the writing was great, and will read this author again for sure.

Who cares

I couldn't feel sorry for Peyton and Nicholas and by the end of the book I didn't care about them. I dislike cheating but when all parties cheat it does not bother me. Is there really a victim in that case? IMO no. They claim to love each other forever and use that to justify their cheating. However they again have a needless separation and it becomes apparent that they did not love each other enough. At that point I no longer care about them. That is what happened here.

SPOILERS

Peyton and Nicholas were on a break when she got trashed and slept with Issac. Issac was previously her boyfriend but when he cheated on her, she broke up with him and started dating Nicholas. After she cheated with Issac her relationship with Nicholas crashed and she married Isaac. Her and Nicholas are separated for years and then their not. Then she cheats with Nicholas but who cares because it is extremely likely that Isaac was also cheating on her. Then she and Nicholas,who swore they would stay together forever because they loved each other apparently just didn't care enough and drifted apart. Another needless separation with both of them moving on until they finally put forth enough effort years later to be together again.

Despite the HEA ending I did not believe that the would be together forever. Something would happen and they would again break apart. However who really cares? Not me. The only thing I care about is that this is a KU book.......

NO CD/ Not the real riffs

I gave it 3 stars because it didn't come with a CD and it was written in its description that it WILL COME with a CD. The only reason a bought a new one was the CD which it didn't come :\\\\\ Also the riffs are super super easy and they don't have the harder part of solos, like in Comfortably numb, there's only tab for the first part...also the tbs through the book mostly are for the vocal melodies and not the actual Pink Floyd guitar riffs!

How to replace vague ideas about your career with strategies that will help you achieve your objectives at work and elsewhere

Up front, I wish to acknowledge my gratitude to Atul Gwande for the excellent material he provides in The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right. It is impossible to know how many lives this distinguished surgeon has saved because of his eloquent advocacy of checklists in the healthcare field. (He is also a professor at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.)

In the business world, eliminating waste (both hours and dollars) is among the most important strategic objectives and I think the material James Kerr provides in his book will help countless executives to formulate objectives, set direction, and manage initiatives that help organizations to be more productive and more efficient as well as less wasteful.

He calls his book a "guide" and it does indeed provide an abundance of sound, enlightened guidance but it can also be viewed as the articulation of a regimen that can help executives (i.e. those who execute) to lead and manage change initiatives effectively, to be sure, but also to lead and manage other initiatives such as setting priorities, formulating and implementing strategies, allocating resources, recruiting/interviewing/hiring the talent and experience needed, strengthening client relationships, and establishing and then sustaining a workplace culture within which innovation is most likely to thrive. Kerr identifies ten specific objectives on "The Executive Checklist" (Page 3) and then devotes a separate chapter to each within his lively as well as thorough narrative. This Checklist is best viewed as "a framework to be used to institute overarching, enterprise-wide transformation." Thoughtfully, Kerr provides a checklist of items for each objective on that Checklist. He carefully identifies the "what" of each and then devotes most of his attention to explaining the "why" and demonstrating the "how" of doing it effectively.

In the Postscript, James Kerr shares his "Bold Vision for Tomorrow's Organizations" and it is indeed bold. However, in my opinion, what it calls for is do-able by almost any organization, whatever its size and nature may be. There are no Big Hairy Audacious Goals among his affirmations and invocations. His approach reminds me of the one that J�rgen Vig Knudstorp and his leadership team took, in 2004, when they began to transform LEGO - "brick by brick" - into one of the world's most innovative as well as most profitable and fastest growing toy companies, in ways and to an extent once thought impossible. It seems to me that, leaders of other organizations that need to be transformed would be well-advised to consider a strategy of achieving that "checklist by checklist." Just a thought....

Is rather a software manual

The stile of writing in this book is awful. Unstructured writing. Hardly to follow. Full of base flattery for the author himself. In order to work with the book you need a special software, which is not included but you need to order it by mail(no e-mail available). I've no glue why they didn't deliver the book with a CD included ? Partly DeMark is just explaining the settings of the software rather than the calculation and construction of the indicators. Since it's too expensive to return the book from Europe I can throw it away.

Sorry to many people that say that this is one of the best books in Tech Analysis. It is impossible, because this is the worst book in this matter. You will spent a hell of a long time studying it and trying to understand any paragraph due to the redaction and the hidden ideas. Moreover you will find a lot of inconsistences between the graphs and the text. Therefore: The most unprofessional thing I have EVER seen in terms of writing and ideas. Sorry but i need to stop the abuse to the readers.

Better than Murphy and Pring

Unlike other technical analysis books, DeMark's two volumes on his exclusive indicators give you ready-to-implement formulas, and he discusses the logic behind those ideas. Whereas other authors discuss head-and-shoulders ad nauseum, DeMark gives you new ideas. You can implement his indicators (most of which don't work all the time, unsurprisingly), and can then think of ways to improve them. Of course, in the end, you have to keep in mind that the market is more or less a legalized casino, where only a lucky few can come out ahead in the long run. Luck is probably the most important trading system you'll need.

About the Author
Joey Yap is the founder of the Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics, a global organisation devoted to the teaching of Feng Shui, BaZi, Qi Men Dun Jia, Mian Xiang and other Chinese Metaphysics subjects. He is also the Chief Consultant of Joey Yap Consulting Group, an international consulting firm specialising in Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology services.

Two pages of actual information about you

I know Joey Yap as a master of various Chinese Metaphysical subjects and I respect him very much.
But this book contains only 2 pages of information about key aspects of your life like personality, career, business, relationships, family, health and academic pursuits. It gives you a general outlook in life and a little bit of advice contained in short paragraphs with a lot of white between them. This little bit of information is no more than 2 pages.
But the book contains 243 pages? Yes it does, but for every 'Life Stem' and 'Door' pairing you have about 200 pages filled.
The rest is introduction, chart plotting and general explanation of what Qi Men is, but not the actual destiny information.

Also he says that this book only talks about the most important part, but not everything.
You only have information about your day stem paired with your personal door but there is much more to be analyzed.
You have 4 stems in a BaZi chart and you have pairings of the stems with the doors, stars and deities and also the stem interactions.
All you get in this book is a general explanation of your life stem (day master in BaZi) paired with your personal door.
This is very little information.
He also says that if you want to know everything, you have to seek help from a master or join him in a class which is in Malaysia.
So if you don't jump on a plane and pay a decent amount for the lessons in the class or if you don't go to the local Qi Men Dun Jia master or the one next door, you won't know everything.
To me this book is another one of those commercial books who only give you a small percent of info to keep you interested and want to go further.
But you don't get the big picture.

So if you want a book that contains 2 pages (not fully filled) with general outlook and a little bit of advice about your life, then this is the book for you. Those 2 pages however do contain correct information. At least when I was reading my own Qi Men destiny.

About the Author

Mikl�s B�na received his Ph.D in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997. Since 1999, he has taught at the University of Florida, where, in 2010, he was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars. Professor B�na has mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students. He is the author of four books and more than 65 research articles, mostly focusing on enumerative and analytic combinatorics. His book, Combinatorics of Permutations, won a 2006 Outstanding Title Award from Choice, the journal of the American Library Association. He is also an editor-in-chief for the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, and for two book series at CRC Press.
