A conversation to strengthen you

Reading through Who Says Men Don't Care I really felt like a conversation was taking place. The type of conversation where I feel engaged, learn something and can immediately apply those lessons in my life. Men do care and it is nice to have a resource to place my feelings in a context.

There are loads of great insights in this book that I think anyone could benefit from, not only a male caregiver. Overall I would encourage anyone who knows, is, or relates to a male caregiver.

terrific little book for men caregivers and those who work with them

I love this book. I work with men caregivers, and it really helped me understand some of the things they do and say. And it's short and very to the point on all topics - terrific for busy, tired men caregivers to help them chart their caregiving course and still take care of themselves.

It also has excellent tools to use with any caregiver, male or female - such as a chart of caregiving myths.

I am a Human Service major and I always find myself being the only male around my peers, this book helped explain as to why this is such a female oriented proffesion. It is a quick read that is real informative on the do's and dont's of being a successful caretaker. For six dollars this is a must buy just wish it was a little longer.

Bad content, but good and speedy shipment

Very little content and ONLY has a speaker saying the word lists in book out loud. Kind of useless in my opinion as we can look up the word in an online dictionary and listen to it there.

a very slow paced book

The story remains intriguing and some of the plot is unveiled in this book. I did however find the scenes drawn out unnecessarily and the pace very slow. Whilst the series does interest me, I would certainly like it to have a faster pace. The characters are however fairly well developed, although many of their motives and positions remain unclear. I look forward to the next book, hoping to get some answers.

A solid second installment in the Ravagers story. The scenes are vividly descriptive while the plot keeps you excited for the next piece of the puzzle. If you've enjoyed anything else by Albrink, you'll love this. Disregard reviews claiming it's full of mistakes or too short; those claims are simply not factual.

Fantastic Story!

My head is still in the book(s)! The action moved so fast that I was afraid that character development would suffer. I could not believe that the characters could be developed at that speed. Speed being once I started I could not put it down. Happily, I was wrong. There aren't just a couple characters either, they are a diverse bunch and all have their own definitive personalities and quirks. No guessing with this one, I have a habit of analysing what I'm reading and many times I can guess where a situation is headed. Not here! The twists and turns kept me guessing though out. It felt like I didn't have time to figure out where the story was going.
This was thoroughly excellent story. I've read 2 of them and can't wait to get the third one which is already out. Not even sure I can all it a good read, it is a story, and it felt as though I was right there living it!

About the Author
Sumit Ganguly is a Professor of Political Science and the Rabindranath Tagore Chair in Indian Cultures and Civilizations at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is the author of numerous books including India's Foreign Policy: Retrospect and Prospect (2010); Nuclear Proliferation in South Asia, with S. Paul Kapur (2008); and The Routledge Handbook of Asian Security Studies (2010), co-edited with Andrew Scobell and Joseph Liow.

Rahul Mukherji is Associate Professor of South Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore. He is the editor of India's Economic Transition: The Politics of Reforms (2007) and India: The Political Economy of Reforms (2004), co-edited with Bibek Debroy.

There are poems that are incredibly comforting and others that are so painful. Trista has the rare talent of writing poems that are both good and true. In terms of literary art, this chapbook is brilliant. Trista weaves together religious overtones with raw sensuality and heartache. She's so purposeful with the imagery, connecting and breaking motifs from each section of the book: how peaches become cherries, how salt is everywhere, the shape of same-different mouths. There is this lovely irony in these poems, how sometimes the speaker of these poems is the one who is described like a dog: sloppy, rabid, hungry, whining. Maybe that's not an irony at all. I love reading, but I had to force myself to finish this book. The "poetry" just seemed naive, not well thought out, and I felt like I was reading something a high schooler wrote in 20 minutes. I cringed throughout reading it. I never write reviews, but this book was just so subpar that I had to.
