What Hawkins has given me

I'm not that impressive of a person. I'm short, balding,
socially awkward, creepy, and judgmental. I'm not mentally
quick at all. I work as a garbage truck driver and that
seems to be the best I can do. I'm helpless when it comes to
anxiety and shame as I experience them everyday. But you
should've seen me BEFORE I was exposed to Hawkins.
I went to Arizona and saw him 4 times and each and every
time I came home something in my life was transformed. There
were times when I felt huge gunky chunks of negativity
lifted out of me at once. Like 3 years of emotional pain
taken out of me in 10 minutes. That's something I can't
explain nor recreate. If I didn't have these experiences
I would have stayed on the path I was on 4 years ago,
and would not be writing this review right now telling you
all how the ship of my life changed courses because of
this sweet man. No, right now I would be stoned in living in
my mom's house staying up all night because I have nothing
to do tomorrow. But that's not what I'm up to today because
I found a teacher and my life had to change.
I feel anxious most of the time, but when he speaks I feel
calm. It doesn't matter if he's talking about the truth of
the nature of God, the thoughts that were going through
Hitler's head, or Diet Pepsi and lamas -- I feel calm.
Basically anytime Hawkins is in my environment I feel like I
get a break from just being this lonely miserable self. I
get to feel like there's something MORE in me in those
moments.
I'm sad that there's a book out there that aims to portray
Hawkins in a negative way because there will be people to
come who wont get to have what I've been given because the
negativity took hold of them.

By their Fruits ye shall know them

The first time I shook Dr. Hawkins hand at a lecture, I sat down and immediately felt a Divine Loving Energy filling up my Heart Chakra and expanding throughout the Universe. I was a devoted spiritual student for many years, and had read about such experiences, but didn't fully believe that such an experience was real, much less possible for me.
Over the course of 10 years I went to 30+ lectures of Dr. Hawkins, and every single time I had shifts in consciousness. On a few occasions, I glimpsed the Timeless Reality of the Bliss of God which is far beyond anything I could have ever imagined prior to having experienced it. There have also been large amounts of negativity that have been stirred up. However, instead of placing blame on Doc (Something Mr. Jeffrey does throughout his book), I have always viewed these experiences as great opportunities to grow even more on the Spiritual Journey and have always found that Doc's teachings have assisted in transcending those negative states.
My life has been completely transformed through reading, listening, watching and applying the teaching of this Great Mystic. I have recovered from numerous addictions, psychological disorders, gained a great deal of compassion for all of humanity, and become a much more loving, responsible and integrous person. I am definitely still a work in progress and am by no means perfect. However, through Doc's teachings of loving the ego rather than condemning it (something Scott Jeffrey seems to think Doc taught), it has become fairly easy to no longer attack myself with guilt over the downside of being human and Love myself instead. Probably, the most profound benefit of this work is that I am generally always aware of a Divine Presence in my life, even in the midst of challenges and difficulties, and that Power is constantly pulling me to higher states of Love and Healing.
I have spoken with countless students who have had similar experiences, and many that are far greater and more permanent than what I experienced. While it is an error to think that Doc single-handedly caused all of these experiences, there is no doubt that his work has been the catalyst that launched me and countless others on this exploration of Consciousness and Awareness of Divinity. There are no words that could ever do justice to the Gratitude I have for Doc and his Work.
Doc has said that "Truth depends on Context". The Context of Doc's work is the Spiritual Energy out of which the Teachings arise. That Energy is easily accessible through reading his works or listening/watching his recorded lectures. Scott Jeffrey has written a book that has portrayed a Great Teacher in a very negative light. He does so by dwelling on irrelevant inconsistencies about what Doc has said about his personal history. It is obvious to me, through my own experiences, that someone who dwelled in such high states would be very inconsistent with their personal story. Brother Lawrence would often forget what he had eaten right after his meal. Mr. Jeffrey also attempts to diagnose Dr. Hawkins as being psychologically dissociated, even though he has no clinical experience whatsoever, much less the level of expertise it would take to be able to distinguish between dissociation and true Enlightenment.
I am sure the majority of the stories of the Buddha, Jesus and Krishna are factually inaccurate. However, to discredit those Beings based on facts and details is to completely miss the Divine Truth within those stories.
To all fellow Devotees who have been caught in doubt and confusion due to the distorted content of this book, remember "Straight and Narrow is the Path. Waste no time.", "All Spiritual Truth is found within. Use verified teachings as a guide" Doc was not infallible, however, he is certainly a very useful guide for us to discover Truth for Our Selves.

My experience

I feel obligated to point out the problems I have with this book. To understand where I am coming from a quick rundown of my life follows.
I hit rock bottom at 18 and in my final despair I called out to God in a final prayer. Shortly after the Doc's teachings came into my life. After 2 years of intense spiritual work, and studying Hawkins' teachings my life was radically transformed in a very positive way.
My depressions are now over, I am currently doing research in psychology (in the area of behavior addictions to be specific), I am very happy and calm. The Doc's teachings work if you have enough humility to apply them.
I skimmed through this book and I have to tell you that this is a classic form of Luciferic inversion. Even the description of the book is off: "...deconstructing them for serious students dedicated to discovering higher consciousness". This clearly states the position where it operates from (pride) and it also appeals to the na�vet� and innate arrogance of the seeker (by stating that this book is for dedicated and serious students it appeals to the innate pridefulness of the ego, whereby all caution is lowered, and thus the wolf in sheeps clothing is allowed in).
For these reasons and out of humility I'd advise everybody to avoid reading this book. The sophistication of the way this book distorts critical issues is also highly alarming and also is quite undetectable to a large portion of society. Take moral relativism as an example: Scott suggests that it is a new paradigm of the ego and well basically that it is a good thing. Well it is not, and I can tell you that from first hand experience. Moral relativism is a straight way to depression and hopelessness.
Note that I don't wish to denounce Scott Jeffrey, his previous works (along the path to enlightenment etc) are pretty much ok.
I simply felt obligated to share my experience with Hawkins and to point out the quite serious errors this book contains.
